It goes without saying that this is a very dramatic picture. However, don't assume that this young man's physical challenges reflect on his mental condition. He may very well be as intelligent and aware as you are or I.

"A life that seems to be against nature but because of his suffering we can be linked to the suffering of Christ and therefore we are lead to a true compassion."

Very high ideals indeed. I suspect it even works for as long as the others do the suffering, not us. Unlike some people (again, it is just a suspicion on my part), I know a little bit on the subject. Life can be a living hell both for the person like the one above, and for all who have to deal with mundane details every day. And I know what happens sometimes (?) behind the closed doors of special care units.

So - please forgive me if I do not share the joy observing this "diversity of life". It is sad. The lad in the picture has my compassion. But I am not going to be sanctimonious about it. Life sucks sometimes - and for the guy in the image it does so for sure. No one deserves something like this, no mater what fancy justification some of us may care to produce.

Regarding the rating - I am not going to rate it. If I could - I would give it 5 for Aestethics, 7 for Originality, and 10 for something which can't be rated.

At any case - count your blessings, those who do not have to experience it first hand. While the image may shock some - the reality is much more shocking...
