shaun perry nz 0 Posted December 3, 2001 The area collectively known as Cappadocia in Turkey has some amazing rock formations due to the erosion that the elements has done. Have I captured this balancing rock correctly, or should I have tried to show more of the column that it is balancing on and its height off the ground. Please rate and comment with what you think. randy_spears1 0 Posted December 3, 2001 I like what you have here, but there's nothing to give us the total sense of size here. Are they huge or small? You might consider including more of the support pillar. Link to comment
j._scott_schrader 0 Posted December 5, 2001 I think you've done a good job with it. ...but, I want to see the rest of the landscape. Is it an area with many of these types of strange occurances or is this just an isolated one. I think it is well composed regardless...it just makes me want to see more images from the area. jeff medkeff anchorage, a 0 Posted December 10, 2001 There a few similar formations here in the southwestern US (the nearest to me being Standing-Up Rocks in the Chiricahua Mountains of southeastern Arizona). Few are as dramatic as this one apparently is, but I've always found that these things photograph better from further off. It seems that the depth gets lost in an image taken from below. I'd try to back off, and let more of their height fill a vertical frame. If you have any perspective controls, they might be worth using. I guess I've found that these formations photograph beter as architecture than as rocks. Link to comment
