- Hi Paula, yes I know at that time there was some sort of a strange defect on PN. I had the same problem:( I'm glad you like my restored version better. Alas I can't find the Dutch translation for 'thump up'. But I suppose you mean to say that the image has undergo many restorations in the meanwhile, am I right? Thanks anyway Paula for your constructive and great comment:~).

- I'm really very grateful with your fantastice reaction on my newest creation, dear Amelie. Your hug felt great and a real big hug goes your way, Ada:~)

Ada, I am reminded of the third stanza from John Keats' "Ode to Melancholy":

She dwells with Beauty--Beauty that must die;

And Joy, whose hand is ever at his lips

Bidding adieu; and aching Pleasure nigh,

Turning to poison while the bee-mouth sips:

Ay, in the very temple of Delight

Veil'd Melancholy has her sovran shrine,

Though seen of none save him whose strenuous tongue

Can burst Joy's grape against his palate fine;

His soul shalt taste the sadness of her might,

And be among her cloudy trophies hung.

Yes, Ada, you have offered a magnificent visual expression of the same idea expressed by Keats: the reality that beautiful things in this world must, alas, fade away.

It is a very sad thought, really, and thus Keats' reference to it as "melancholy."

Technically, this is superb as well. I cannot praise it too highly. No, there is nothing suggestive or provocative about it. That would be nonsense. It is truly a creative masterpiece. You are nonetheless bold in offering it on such a forum as Photo.net. I am glad to see that it has been very well-received.

I'm speechless dear Lannie.... What a great comment you've given to me and what a splendid poem. I'm more than flattered that my work reminds you of the brilliant work of J. Keats. I've done my best to understand the poem. It's the original version written in Anglo-Saxon I suppose? Though I don't understand it all, the content of it is clear to me.

It's fantastic and so sweet of you to show me how people, independent of age and period of time give expression to the same theme by using their own individual talents.

Thank you so much Lannie!

Ada:)

It's wonderful, Ada - a great piece of work, and worthy of 7/7's, for sure!

Long time no see, were have you been hanging out?? It's great to hear your opinion. I'm glad you like my creation. Not everybody likes it that I put the text into the picture. So I'm glad you do because I like it too. It's very lonesome for me in there without something to read:~)))

Spass beiseite; Ich bin sehr froh mit deimem Kommentar.

You are very inventive and you have skill to make photomontage. I would have liked to give you 7 but you gave me 7 also on a photo and I am not "allowed to reciprocate so soon" as says the photo.net message. Regards, Henri

the most important to me is your comment. I feel very proud by the compliment you make me. It's great you like to pay this work of mine with the highest ratings, but in fact they are not important after the fantastic comment you gave to me:~) Many Greetings, Ada:)

I don`t come to photo.net as often anymore because of the aparent dis-interest in my work by the members...but when I do I always enjoy looking at your images Ada.

keep up the good work...and if I should not come back before Christmas...A Very Merry Christmas to You and Your Family.

I appreciate your comments Detlef you know that, but not only your comments; I also appreciate your work. And as it is with all of us, sometimes our pictures doing well, and other times they doing a bit less. But I agree that there is a des-interest amongst members, but not only for your work Detlef. The time that a good unmanipulated picture got the attention and appreciation it deserves seems to be done, unless you have a couple of real true friends around you who will always stand by and follow your work with full interest.

What has happened here with this picture is exceptional, Detlef.

I personal think that the last picture I posted from Bruges, (the one with the trees in front of a churh) should earn more attention, actually. But for some reason only a handful of people have react on it. It's disappointing but I can understand that it's very demotivating when nobody comes to take a look at your work.

It's not you Detlef, it's not your sense of humour, and it can't be your remarks. You are a real gentlemen; an engaging guy, so don't worry about that. What I worry about is the pain and the disappointment people cause you by being such an ego trippers. They even don't realise what they can bring about in someones life by ignore the work and the person who created the work into which he has put his heart and soul.

I've just watched the last portrait you've uploaded Detlef and it's a wonderful picture. So please, keep posting your work and keep commenting, if it was only for me! I don't gonna whish you a Merry Christmas Detlef, (not yet!) because I'm sure we will see and talk to each other before Christmastime has arrived.

Keep your spirits up!!! Love, Ada.
