Cropped from uninteresting original. Actually, the lens wasn't long enough to just choose what I wanted to show, so...

I took this picture using my digital camera DSC-P1. The lens wasn't

long enough for what I wanted to show, so I had to shoot and then

crop the resulting image. I think I regret more than ever to no have

used my Minolta with a Velvia or Kodakchrome...

Anyway, what do you think?

Lovely compostion.. I especially like the how you place the sunset close to the lower border and leave the skyline out of the frame.. most people would do otherwise. If your complaint was on the unrealistic blue glow of the sun.. I agree. Any traditional film would do the job of capturing that warm glow of the setting sun. I remember giving you a 8/8 rating for this one... Keep it up...

I like the composition too. This is a great job. The colors seems 'too much' for my personnal taste. Lacks some definition too, indeed. Due to the crop or to too low a speed to 'freeze' the birds (or both) ?

You are right with the definition issue... I had to crop the picture in order to get what really was intended. I discarded abut 40% of the original, because the zoom of the camera wasn't powerful enough and the result was a completely uninteresting image.

Also, the low light made me shoot at a low speed, and the ASA was set automatically (probably at 200 or so).

Thanks for the comments!.

Splendid composition, nice timing, good choice of crop - shame about having only the digital but you've got a lovely image as opposed to no image at all, so it could be worse :-)
