Lake Julia as seen from behind Nicolet Theatre in Rhinelander, WI

To get back some of the detail in the trees that frame this picture, I used the Pixie Dust Pro plug-in in Corel Photo-Paint 8. I set the Quartic method of the Exposure filter to 5%. This method has a very strong effect (hence the 5%), much stronger on the dark pixels than the light. This way I was able to lighten the dark frame somewhat without changing the bulk of the image.
