I like the organic feel conveyed by the road. It reminds me of a snake or worm. I also think you've done a excellent job of dividing the frame.

This is a prime example of how a "road" shot can ad so much graphic interest to a composition. Your lighting on this shot is just right, that nice golden glow hitting the side of the cliff and road makes this photo feel so warm. I've been by and camped at Flaming Gorge but don't remember the dam, I'll be damned....

Thank you Alpaslan, Alex, and Susan! I'm glad I didn't have to help build this road. It's a long way down!

Susan, you'll have to come back, since you missed this!

I like winding roads, like this dam one :). Good composition and nice colors. I wish there was light one the greens.

You wish what? That the greens were brighter? Thanks for visiting!

This is a vivid and crisp image, very nice. I like the clarity of the engineering aspects. Great composition, water, space, solid rock, and man's winding intervention. This really makes that new camera shine. The sunshine seems to have been perfect too! I'm glad I finally got time to load the full size photo. ~Sky

Kim, from a fairly bright laptop screen, I think I see trees in the right corner shadow. The effects won't be the same if that area is lit up also and I guess it might be better this way. I was thinking about seeing the contrast between green trees and red rocks.

Kim, this is a very good photo: excellent light and I love how the highway snakes through the frame. I also like how the black space frames the shot, both on the bottom and top right corner. Very nice--one of the best in your portfolio.

Great shot Kim. I love how the road winds itself through the landscape. The dark vegetation of the mountain in the background forms a nice contrast to the rocks in the golden sunlight.

Very nice shot, for a moment I thought I was looking at the road they are building here along our coastline, looks almost identical. You did very well on this one, the light is fantastic.

That's nice of you! I just haven't gotten the hang of choosing subjects yet. I was trying to photograph landscape stuff, and nothing was very good, so I took this picture because it caught my eye. It was sort of an afterthought, because it usually doesn't occur to me to capture manmade stuff. I guess this is the way to learn!
