abak 0 Posted October 16, 2005 Very good photo. I especially like the photos with roads. Link to comment
alex1 0 Posted October 16, 2005 I like the organic feel conveyed by the road. It reminds me of a snake or worm. I also think you've done a excellent job of dividing the frame. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted October 16, 2005 This is a prime example of how a "road" shot can ad so much graphic interest to a composition. Your lighting on this shot is just right, that nice golden glow hitting the side of the cliff and road makes this photo feel so warm. I've been by and camped at Flaming Gorge but don't remember the dam, I'll be damned.... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2005 Thank you Alpaslan, Alex, and Susan! I'm glad I didn't have to help build this road. It's a long way down! Susan, you'll have to come back, since you missed this! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2005 I like winding roads, like this dam one :). Good composition and nice colors. I wish there was light one the greens. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2005 You wish what? That the greens were brighter? Thanks for visiting! Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted October 17, 2005 I love the composition! Great light-even the dam light turned on adds to the scene. Nice work! Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted October 17, 2005 Sky Blue, October 17, 2005; 12:33 A.M. (edit | delete) This is a vivid and crisp image, very nice. I like the clarity of the engineering aspects. Great composition, water, space, solid rock, and man's winding intervention. This really makes that new camera shine. The sunshine seems to have been perfect too! I'm glad I finally got time to load the full size photo. ~Sky Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2005 Kim, from a fairly bright laptop screen, I think I see trees in the right corner shadow. The effects won't be the same if that area is lit up also and I guess it might be better this way. I was thinking about seeing the contrast between green trees and red rocks. Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted October 17, 2005 I agree w/ Susan...Great shot! What light! Well done. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted October 17, 2005 Kim, this is a very good photo: excellent light and I love how the highway snakes through the frame. I also like how the black space frames the shot, both on the bottom and top right corner. Very nice--one of the best in your portfolio. Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted October 17, 2005 Great shot Kim. I love how the road winds itself through the landscape. The dark vegetation of the mountain in the background forms a nice contrast to the rocks in the golden sunlight. Link to comment

birteragland 1 Posted October 20, 2005 Very nice shot, for a moment I thought I was looking at the road they are building here along our coastline, looks almost identical. You did very well on this one, the light is fantastic. Link to comment
andre_mcnichols 0 Posted October 20, 2005 I'd be satisfied if I got one frame of that quality on a full shooting day. Good job! Andre Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 22, 2005 That's nice of you! I just haven't gotten the hang of choosing subjects yet. I was trying to photograph landscape stuff, and nothing was very good, so I took this picture because it caught my eye. It was sort of an afterthought, because it usually doesn't occur to me to capture manmade stuff. I guess this is the way to learn! Link to comment
