phillipmarcovallentin 0 Posted October 15, 2005 To what artistic level, can I continue to use crop as a tool, before you sacrifice me for pour resolution? I hope for artistic answers, more than technical ones... Link to comment
daviddbfotoart 0 Posted October 15, 2005 Sorry. IMHO, I dont see any artistic value. looks like you pressed pause on the porn video you were watching and took a photo of the screen. If that was your intention, then it's 7/7 for the Andy Warhol experience. Link to comment
phillipmarcovallentin 0 Posted November 1, 2005 to: Marco Mugnatto. I am not familiar enough with "bad taste porn" to make the comparison. Obviousely you are... --- to: David Blair. This is not a screen shot. Also it's not a paused videofilm, but a "paused" model. I am very surpriced you can't tell the difference David. Are you perhaps simply trying to insult me, using as few braincells as posible? Even if the artistic value is low, judging from the viewer-counter, this shot must at least have some entertaining value? --- More comments are welcome... Link to comment
daviddbfotoart 0 Posted November 2, 2005 I certainly didn't mean to offend you about the screen shot, I was commenting on the picture quality of the photo you're showing me. It LOOKS like it was taken from a tv screen. The content of the shot is something that doesn't appeal to my taste, and I feel that this forum gives us a chance to learn via positive and negative comments. Link to comment
spitz 0 Posted November 5, 2005 Phillip, As always, I like your work. It is so different than what I shoot - I wish I had a fraction of your creativity. In so many of your pictures the model is posed for the viewer's pleasure or entertainment. This is one of those exceptions when the appearance is that you've caught her in her own moment, rather than posed for us. Because of that, I like the tight crop that draws us right into her expression. I don't think I'd like it to get much closer, though. The hint of leg adds to the sexuality of the moment. I also think it works having the grainy or "paused video" effect. It's not a beauty or fashion shot, and since she doesn't seem to be posing for the viewer, it's like the viewer is a voyuer spying on her private moment. How appropriate for that to be a less than perfect image. I might not appreciate it as much on its own as a part of your larger "body" of work. (Sorry for the bad pun). Bob Spitz Link to comment
