brad_martin 0 Posted December 1, 2001 So soft and dream-like. My knee jerk response is to say that the image "falls in half" but I don't think that is the case, there is enough extra value here that it works. Link to comment
olivier flambert 0 Posted December 2, 2001 Beautiful tones of gray and soft focus. There is a sort of magic realism to this image. Definitely a sensible and well done image! Link to comment
frank uhlig 0 Posted December 12, 2001 This is not in "soft focus". It is a 10 sec exposure and the grass is swaying in the wind. The tower and house are sharp. Let us not lose our words here. Great effect. Link to comment
straycat 0 Posted January 2, 2002 This is an exceptional image! Beautiful. Normally I find many IR pictures overdone - the white foliage, black skies, etc. This one however is done close to perfection. I'm curious as to how well this image appears when printed. It's my one reservation about digital images. Link to comment
sshort 0 Posted February 22, 2002 I haven't printed this as yet but I've using a service called PhotoBox (www.photobox.co.uk). Although this is UK based there must be similar services in the US. You upload files and then order prints. They print using digital enlargers - Fuji Frontier for up to 10x12 and a Polielectronica Laserlab for the large format stuff. Although I'd guess the service is aimed at point'n'shoot digital camera users, I've had excellent results with everything that I've had printed - up to 20x30". The only caveat is that I made a point of finding out what the native resolutions of their enlargers are (300 dpi and 254 dpi) and what color profiles are used. I prepare the files that I upload so that they are sized correctly at the enlarger's native resolution. No disappointments so far - all the prints have been excellent and some of the 20x24 and 20x30 are just stunning. The prices are excellent - a 20x30 is around 28 dollars. Link to comment
