antanas.strazdas 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Excellent composition, very good exposure, light and DOF, best regards. Link to comment
sarah_newton 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Absolutely awesome capture, worthy of an appearance in a travel brochure, it would certainly tempt me there. Perspective and composition are excellent and that colour and exposure is perfect. As for the 2/2 raters they are most likely to be jealous of your work, they haven't even the intelligence to explain their actions and should be kicked off the site! :) Link to comment
paprika 0 Posted May 19, 2007 excellent - great contrast but still details in the dark and no burned out whites ! Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Very well composed. Your use of the diagonal breaks emphasizes the tremendous depth of the range. Well done, Kaushik. Link to comment
robert semnic 0 Posted May 19, 2007 It is a pleasure to have comment from master as you are. Thanks. This photo is well composed. I personally alwayas have a fear that my sky would be empty so try to shot landscapes durin cloudy days. cheers Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Thanks for your comment, Kaushik. This is a fine image with good composition. As someone has said before, the lens vignetting (top corners)is quite strong. I use Adobe Lightroom (which I highly recommend) to fix that. Well done! Also as has been mentioned before, ratings in the critiques forum should be ignored. Comments are the only feature which are of use, and I certainly wouldn't waste energy arguing with the faceless "experts". Link to comment
jackmehta 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Kaushik, great shot.Is this in Arunachal? And what height is this - 16000? Regarding ratings, I can well understand how you feel getting a 2/2. I have often been hit by such ratings. But I, for one, always love seeing your photographs. Whenever I log on to PN, your portfolio is one of the first I check out. You have friends on PN who know how good you are; that's all that matters. Regards, Rajiv Link to comment
neerajtyagi 0 Posted May 21, 2007 Hi, The photo to me captures the essence of a frozen bare landscape very well.As you know I am an amateur and aside from subtle technical nuances the snap hits you with the atmosphere of the place very well. Cheers Neeraj Tyagi Link to comment
j.k._york 0 Posted May 22, 2007 i like how the mountains cross each other from the sides creating a very nice overlap in the middle with the darker rock against the snow. very well balanced with beautiful sky. thank you for sharing with us. regards, J.K. Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted May 23, 2007 Hi Kaushik; I looked at this picture and read your anger regarding a 2/2 rating. I know this was quite some time ago, but I will comment on it anyway: I sincerely hope that you, by now, have overcome your anger and do not react to these strange people with tiny tiny brains who seem to get a kick out of this low rating game. These folks probably also get a kick out of torturing flies. So please, totally ignore these jerks, and look for the ratings in the mid to higher range and in particular for the critiques, where a person has to say something meaningful or not, but he/she has to put his/her name to it. Now to the picture above: It is a lovely shot, maybe the snow has a bit of a blueish tinge to it. I love mountains, having grown up in Austria, but I also realize that your average mountain shot takes little imagination. Believe me, I have taken hundreds of them...So, please carry on your good work. ...Bert Link to comment
