jx 0 Posted November 28, 2001 Should I have zoomed more on the sunshine or is it OK? Thanks Link to comment
henry_domenici 0 Posted November 28, 2001 This is a nice image, but I might have cropped out some of the bottom. It looks very soft, is that water? Was this a long exposure? Link to comment
shawngibson 0 Posted December 25, 2001 I rated this. Don't get angry since I gave a 1 for originality. I love it and aesthetically I gave it a 10. The '1' is because I would rather have seen you be personal. Not approach the cliche landscape:) You've obviosuly the talent to do that if this photograph is any indication. Link to comment
jx 0 Posted December 25, 2001 Why would I get angry :) I love sincere comments and ratings. I'm here to learn about photography and thats the only way it goes here, to get honest opinions. Thanks PS: I, as well, don't like cliche photos very much, but since I'm a begginer, only nature stands still :) Link to comment
rdwhiteman 0 Posted February 8, 2002 I'm trying to understand...what's NOT personal about this? Is it THAT cliche? We live in a time when it's impossible to be "original" with every photo we might be inclined to take. (can you photograph any famous landmark from say...yosemite without looking like some kind of copycat?) What is wrong with taking a standard approach with any particular subject? For many, especially beginners, the "standard" approach might be new and original with them. A beautiful landscape sometimes demands a basic attitude when capturing it's raw, natural beauty. It speaks for itself just as it is. Go ahead and do "new" stuff if you feel you have to but isn't that even becoming cliche? I do enjoy and am even amazed by the original thinking of many I see here on photo.net and often wish I could be that creative, but it's just not always there with some of us so the best that can be done often will be taken by some as too standard or cliche. Oh well... Link to comment
