squirrelman 0 Posted May 14, 2002 Comments and ratings are much appreciated. The ball (upper right), soon to become Reggie's last Yankee Stadium homer, is on it's way to the right-center field stands. Believe it or not, this shot was taken with a hand-held 400mm lense from the upper deck in right field, using tri-x 400 film which was double pushed on development. The date was September 25, 1981. I had no idea I had actually captured the ball until the next day when I developed my negatives. Link to comment
suzanne_berry 0 Posted May 15, 2002 I'm a Yankee fan at heart, but live in Southern Ca. now and went to the Angels when "Reggie" played for them ...My biggest thrill was to see him hit a grand slam, right towards where we weresitting! Thanks for the Great pictures!! Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted May 27, 2002 Hi Michael, Wonderful shot! right down to the space you gave the batter and capturing the ball in that space. I can imagine drawing that shot up on a story board - and failing to get it for weeks. You have it. Mike Sea Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted May 27, 2002 Thanks Mike. I snapped at almost every swing Reggie made that night, but this was the only one that caught the ball coming off the bat. But it was also the only one that mattered. Have you seen this one? It's a series of three shots, including this same one plus before and after. Link to comment
Wayne Melia 6,045 Posted June 1, 2002 Aside from the signifigance of the content, this stands on its own as an excellent picure. I admire the composition with (as mentioned previously) the space given, and the horizontal lineup of the humans in juxtaposition against the diagonal lines. You can be justifiably proud of this.
