marielou_dhumez 1 Posted October 4, 2005 I have no idea of the name of this spider -I tried Araneus, but seems not- but your shoot is absolutely incredible. All my compliment for your always exceptional work. Link to comment
aphanius 0 Posted October 4, 2005 Hi Mark ;). It's a crab spider (Thomisidae), probably Ozyptila praticola (check species list of this genus in your local guide). Nice capture. Link to comment
kobye 0 Posted October 4, 2005 Excellent Quality. I never would have guessed a 2x TC w/ this lens at f22 could produce an image this good. Wait - oh s&^t! let me be clear...Excellent job on YOUR part! The lighting, DOF, and optical quality (part I was surprised at) is first rate. Cheers, Keith Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted October 5, 2005 I don't think I've ever seen this particular part of the food chain before. Great job capturing it. Link to comment

mj_gilmartin 0 Posted October 5, 2005 Well caught. You certainly captured how uncomporomising life can be at the macro level. Link to comment
wogears 186 Posted October 5, 2005 Blecch! I like spiders and I don't like yellow jackets, but this actually bothers me. It's also a terrific shot, perfectly seen and exposed. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted October 6, 2005 Superb capture of this Spider, only I wish dear Mark that the overall is more contrasted/saturated!!! and some details are lost!?!?! Biliana Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 6, 2005 I had to look closely to see who was having dinner and who was on the menu. That is a very bold spider. Link to comment
