johannes_felten 0 Posted October 2, 2005 Tec diver approaching the conning tower of the Scire. Although large sections of its hull were destroyed when the Sub was sunk by depth charges from the British HMS Islay in 1942, with the loss of all hands, the conning tower remains intact. Link to comment
j123 0 Posted October 3, 2005 Beatifull image! It is quiet rare to see a sub pic as these for some reason tend to sink in very deep water! How deep is this and where is it located? The photo is really powerfull, very sharp and great visibility, I love it! Link to comment
johannes_felten 0 Posted October 3, 2005 The Scire is located near the coast of Haifa, Israel, at a depth of 30m., which is not very deep. The only restrictions that apply from a diving point of view are sea conditions, currents, and visibility. Here is some more info from the official Italian web site: http://www.subnetitalia.it/decimascireenglish.htm Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted November 27, 2005 Yet another of your superbly composed & exposed under sea images. Well done. I find your work fascinating Link to comment
