clives 0 Posted September 30, 2005 The sun had set behind the mountains to the west. We were driving along a main highway and spotted this moose. The f4.5/5.6 100-300mm APO was on the 7D. The ISO was boosted 800. Several images taken at 1/15 and 1/20 sec. Poor conditions for sure. This image is not cover sharp--how could it be? However, for me the image is suitable because: 1) I like the effect of the panned (blurred) fall colors and don't really mind the blurring on the moose, and 2) I could not have done this with my film Maxxum 7 even if I owned an 2.8/300-mm lens as I would have had ISO 100 slide film. Just too dark for film--and no time to change to higher ISO film. I was happy on my 7D DSLR right away. It is special treats like this that make the investment worthwhile. As always, comments welcome. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted November 3, 2005 Beautiful shot, I envy you. I am just back from Sweden and I have not seen any of these magnificent animals. I love the panning and the colours... jana Link to comment
