The scene is laid in Bruges

Hello Ada! With some delay I just have read your comment on my photo "Bruges, Notre-Dame seen from the little bridge" and saw your invitation to take a look on your photo of the same bridge. It is really fantastic. You have done a great work on it. This is the kind of images I love but I fear to be incapable to do the same thing.

In the same time I have take a look on your all port-folio and there is many photos in it that I love very much. From what I read in your biography, you live near Bruges and you are very lucky because it is a very nice town that I have loved to walk in the streets. Regards, Henri

Hi Ada. I have a collection of some photos to make part of my wall paper in the desktop of my computer. I would like to have this if you do not care about. I like a lot dark photos and this is wonderful. Congratulations really.

Thank you Henri for your kind comment. Though you think I live near Bruges it's still 2 and a half hour by car so it's not exactly close by and to be honest this was the second time in my life that I've visited it. But I have planned to do that more often in the future. When I see your pictures of Bruges there are a lot of wonderful spots I've missed. Superb image. The light leading lines contrast perfectly against the darkness here. A very mysterious and eerie setting, yet strangely inviting at the same time. I love the mood here. Well done.

Dit is werklik een fantastiese foto. Die oorgang van die natuurlike na die abnormale is baie goed gedoen. Jy moet miskien net kyk na een flatertjie. Jy het gelukkig die foto geplaas in jou folder genaamd Digitaal, maar onder die details op die foto self het jy dit gemerk as "Unmanipulated". Dit mag dalk iemand heerlik om die bos lei en dan baklei hy of sy onnodig met jou oor nietighede.

 

Dit is vir my so lekker om in my eie taal hier te kan skryf, ek hoop en vertrou egter dat jy weliswaar alles kan verstaan. Indien nie, laat my weet dan probeer ek in Engels, of behoede ons, selfs in Nederlands!

 

Baie geluk dat jou foto op die voorblad is vandag - welgedaan!

Wat leuk dat je mijn foto hebt opgemerkt. En dank je wel voor je leuke bijdrage in die prachtige taal van jouw thuisland die ik volledig kan verstaan.

 

Jij bent trouwens een oplettend man JH; je bent de eerste die mij op mijn slordige foutje wijst. En je moet van me aannemen het niet mijn plan was om mensen voor het lapje te houden. Maar daar gaan wij zeker niet over bakkeleien vandaag want ik ben veel te trots dat mijn foto op de voorpagina staat;-)

 

'Bakkeleien' dat is een schitterend mooi woord en we kunnen er wat van hier in Nederland. Ik vind het zo leuk om te horen dat jullie dat woord in Zuid Afrika ook gebruiken. Ik vind het trouwens erg fijn om een commentaar te krijgen dat ik lekker vlot kan lezen en dat lukt me prima met het Zuid Afrikaans. In het Engels zal ik me niet zo snel aan het bakkeleien wagen. Trouwens, ik ben al blij als mijn bijdrages in dat kromme Engels van me geen aanleiding geven tot misverstanden.

 

JH, ik wens je een hele fijn dag toe met net zulk stralend weer als wij hier nu hebben. Het is hier nu 27 graden Celcius en dat is ongekend warm voor de tijd van het jaar.

Baie dankie vir jou terugvoer in julle pragtige taal. Fotos mag dalk universele toepassing vind, maar een se taal is darem waaragtig musieknote deur die ore reguit na die hartsnare.

 

Ek het weer na die kiekie (ken jy die woord?) gekyk, en dit is werklik mooi. Welgedaan - ek sal uitkyk vir nog van jou werk sodat ek nog bietjie Afrikaans met jou kan praat.

first of all I like the subject, the composition and the final render. My only gripe is the hgihlights on the side walls. if the intention was to have them lead to the door, then it failed. the cobbled pathway was enough, as is the lines of white and very dark shadow just hold my eyes instead of leading them to the door.
