ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted November 27, 2001 Nice composition, lighting is even. But, I think I would have preferred a bit more light in the hand area Link to comment
fg 0 Posted November 27, 2001 Interesting image, I like the tatoo and the chain thing. I would have seen a more aggressive posture but that's just me. I think you might be interested in the work of Paolo Roversi, a regular shooter for Vogue Italia. The print displaying the border of the negative reminds me of the good old Cartier Bresson. I would not use 135 for such work - go 4x5" and keep up - FG Link to comment
alex_hawley 0 Posted November 29, 2001 Provocative and sensual yet still some subtlety. Nice shot! Link to comment
zuzus petals 0 Posted November 29, 2001 I agree with someone else who commented that they would have seen a different posture. The tatoos are rather a statement, the chain very bold, and yet the woman seems to be so folded in on herself and I get the impression of timidity - which seems rather incongruous. It leaves me with the impression that she put on the chain for show, for the picture, and it's not something you might see her walking around with. Link to comment
doni_scheindlin 0 Posted December 21, 2001 Very nice composition. I would disagree with what a couple people have said about the pose. To me the pose appears very natural, and I think that is part of what makes a successful portrait. People who have tattoos and wear non-traditional body adornments come in all personality types, and capturing that is as important as capturing the physical aspects of the subject. Anyway, well done.
