canonfodder 0 Posted September 27, 2005 No drama to this shot aa with other cloud formations. The snippet of the engine is distracting too, I'd crop that out and keep this photo as a stock sky for use in another picture maybe. Link to comment
francesco m 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Chris Latham is right i am afraid...though i am sure that what you saw out of that window was breathtaking...but...you saw it in CONTEXT...and you gave us here just a glimpse...and it looks dull because there is no real subject (looks like thousands of other sky photos), is missing contrast, the clouds just floate there...but this it is what they always do!. You have to watch for something dramataic...a sunset, a patch of clear striking blue sky, or a dominant cloud that would pull you into the photo... like this is just clouds...they are clearly pretty...the problem is that they compete for our attention...you need to take one and zoom in and use the others as complementary elements...compositionally speaking. The part of the plane is distracting as suggested. I suspect you left it in because you wanted to point that the phot is taken from the plane...or you do not know how to cropp! Again the photo has no elemets to frame the subject...my eyes wander through the picture and don't have a resting place as Nhoa's dove... If the heavy upper cloud would have been burned in a bit... anyway you have a good eye...practice meakes perfect to use a favourite cliche! FrancescoM PS. i tried a bit of PhotoShop to bring into focus the main subject...just to underline what i meant. Link to comment
