The Light in the middle of the shot is a little distracting. And it would be cool if the boats could have been in focus, but I'm sure they were moving around. Other wise a very good photograph. I'm a huge fan of night photography

your idea is too common unfortunately, perhaps hand-held? I do not mean to be rude/harsh on you. try a different angle, different viewpoint. do not stay within the usual. perhaps this was a hard shot for you, may be it got a lot of attention too. I have bundled a bunch of such shots.

Thanks for the looks. Yes, might have been interesting if the boats weren't blurred (then again, it might not have been as interesting either). Even with a light wind, you will get some movement with small boats. Turgut, it's obvious that I used a tripod; it is a 10-20 sec exposure (tech details). It was more designed as a scenic seascape rather than a creative expose, though I am happy with the composition (except for that annoying lamp). W/o the lamp however, the boats wouldn't be illuminated, so it's a double edged sword. -GB

Hi Greg!

I like this shot as it is even with the light that makes the nice atmospheric caracter.

I agreed with you about if the boats were in focus the shot should be not so interesting.

I am a big defender of moves and out of focus shots. In this shot static things are in focus but not the ones than move, like in real live, this shot gave more information about the scene than if it has everything in focus.

Not every time out of focus mean not good, I have seen better shots with simple cameras than with the best ones.

Regards.
