Wonderful image! I really like the tones, and the sky - would my eyes be lying to me if I thought there was a bit of a red blush in some of the trees? You know I want to see this in color now And I also want to visit! I was up in RMNP Saturday and it was lovely... found some pockets of color, but nothing as outstanding as I've seen in previous years. Had I seen this picture last week I likely would have kept on driving ;)

Thank you Kathy

There was a blush of red in the leaves but not what I would call a huge amount. Color can be arranged. Wouldn't be too terribly difficult. I saved the PSD file and all I would have to do is delete the curves layer I used to desaturate, frame it, sharpen, and resize.

I was up in RMNP on Friday morning before going to work and noticed there was a lot more color than there was 6 days earlier. But honestly for color it cannot compare to the area around Red Feather Lakes. The light was pretty iffy on Saturday but the trees were spectacular. They were especially nice on county road 162 between Red Feather Lakes and the Poudre River. (Thats mostly dirt road but its in excellent shape and is easy going.)

The trip was worth it for the sunrise alone. It looked like the whole world was on fire.

Thank you Charlene. The only thing to dislike about Autumn is that its too short. Mid September thru the end of October is the best time of year.

Thank you Kim. That wasn't my intent, but now that you mentioned it do you mind if I pretend it was? It sounds so much more creative than "I was just fooling around and stumbled on a look I like." :))

Okay, you can say so...I thought that was your intent with the red trees!
