Hummingbird Experiment No.2



Exposure was 1/1000th second at f11. Illumination was by means of two #6 focal plane class flashbulbs. Pentax SMC 300mm f4 lens on Extension Tube #2. Gitzo 1325/Acratech ball head. Inverted and Levels adjusted in Ektaspace using Photoshop CS.

Perhaps not even of average quality, the color balance is off because I should have had an 80c filter over the light source. The DOF is too narrow. Overall, however, I think the photograph works as an interesting capture of this fellow in an amusing pose.

You are right, Walter.... It is an amusing pose... and I love soft warm colors.... It is a lovely pic!

Walter, I guess you enjoy a challenge! Shooting something like this with a dof so small must be very much a percentage game. My best wishes!
