root 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Office lights are the curse of these shots. I find my best chances are on a Sunday at dawn or dusk. Definitely worth another trip if possible. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted September 23, 2005 Thanks for stopping by. Of course I am familiar with your building work. I included the light intentionally. I thought it offered an additional dimmension. I had opportunities to eliminate it. Thanks again for your comments. Link to comment
root 0 Posted September 23, 2005 At first glance, I assumed from the precise placement that it was intentional, but I have to say that the lack of any color, texture or other interesting features within the chosen focal point, coupled with the other lights lower left, detract from the overall aesthetics of the image and draw the eye away from the interesting rhythmic pattern. I have found that many photographers are reluctant to embrace straight rhythm shots (no focal point). Don't know if that affected your decision. In this case, without the lights, the eye would have gone to the alternative focal point (the black areas on the right) which could go unnoticed otherwise. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted September 23, 2005 The slide does have more detail in the light. Unfortunately, either my scanner, or my ability to use it tend to fail me at the extremes (light and dark). The lower lights were not intentional, and were unnoticed during exposure. Truthfully, I'm not entirely sold on the inclusion of the light. It was intentional though... Link to comment
