I don't use my EF-S 18-55mm lens much. But occasionally it comes in handy when I don't want to be bothered by a lot of heavy gear. Like today for example. For the price its really not half bad.

I like how the sky and clouds make all the houses look so insignificant. Puts an interesting perspective on things! I like it!

Thank you Gino. I do remember Ansel Adams. He was and is my all time favorite photographer. You can't find words to describe how good some of his stuff is.

Kim. Thank you. You are right. The sky and the clouds do make the houses look rather insignificant. I was on my way to see my Podiatrist when I saw this. I couldn't help but stop and try to capture the view.

This is a nice little poem I ran across about clouds.

"Sie fliegen auf und ab, hin und her,

treffen alles dieser Welt.

Mal hell, mal dunkel, mal leicht, mal schwer,

I don't suppose you're going to translate for those of us who aren't learned world travelers?

Poetry is about the hardest thing there is to translate from one language to another. Almost inevitably you lose the flavor and the charm if you do a literal translation. Plus I am not that good a translator to begin with. That said here is what the words mean in English.

Translation:

They fly up and down, to and fro,

encountering all of this world.

Sometimes bright, sometimes dark, sometimes light, sometimes heavy and

sometimes the color of the sea

Sometimes you encounter them as a tiger, sometimes as a dragon.

And sometimes they climb out of mans revenge

Sometimes they are a field, sometimes they are an arrow, And most of the time they are good for the soul

At times they excite, sometimes they are as beautiful as poetry, and sometimes they enchant like magic.

One can love them, one can hate them,

but one thing, you can not omit them

One perceives them forever whether one wants or not, Since they belong to life, as well as the light.

It's beautiful, Larry, and I got a whole lot more out of it than I did in German! Thanks!

You are quite welcome. It really does flow much better in German than it does English. But I am glad you got something out of anyway. :)
