mike_hardiman 0 Posted November 23, 2001 Took this photograph at about 3am one Monday morning in June. 60 second exposure, f/2.8, 24mm Canon lens. Provia 100F pushed to ISO 400. Used my car head lights for about 3 seconds in order to illuminate the red sail boat in the foreground (no moonlight available at all). timo_inkinen 0 Posted November 23, 2001 It's a beatiful photo about the Aurora Borealis and I like it quite a lot. But it can be improved by a little cropping from the bottom. I would have also touched the photo with some image editing program so that the light reflections on the water were removed (they disturb at least my eyes). See the touched version of your photo enclosed above to see the difference. Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted November 23, 2001 Having both the big dipper and the aurora clearly visibly makes this photo very special. I'm not sure the boat does much for me, however. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted November 30, 2001 Awe inspiring! Some people only live to see it once in a life time. Flashing head lights to illuminate boat...freaking genius! Way to go!!! Link to comment
alfredo orihuela 0 Posted July 11, 2009 Thats more like it. I'm with Wilson's.... Perfect! can be better and after a while you will know(if not already) how. Also mate, try using different types of film, sure there is something out there more appropriate. Top notch! A Link to comment
