tyler_woods 0 Posted September 15, 2005 Finally took the time to do some touchup work on this. Also recropped it. Link to comment
spike 0 Posted September 16, 2005 stunning image, love the soft tones! Cant figure out the light though, where its coming from and what the background relief is from the lighting? Not a fault, maybe just me.. Link to comment

glenn mellen 0 Posted September 17, 2005 Excellent, abstractish photo of the sand dune details! Only negative... the background looks very "photoshopped" in my perspective... looks like tones left by heavy use of burning tool. But still, a very effective image. 6/6 Link to comment
vrankin 1,339 Posted September 17, 2005 When viewed in the abstract, this is a striking photo. I'm guessing the reason why some commenting are having difficulty with the upper and lower halves is that this is possibly a composite of two different dunes in different lighting. If not, then I join you in the wondering... Link to comment
regas chefas 0 Posted September 17, 2005 Really like how you composed this. The character in the Dunes sets it apart. Link to comment
ghuczek 0 Posted September 17, 2005 I wish that the connection between the top and bottom halves of the photo were stronger. The two regions seem to work against each other. The bottom has a noticeable texture, and the light and shadow play nicely up and along the diagonal. The central ridge, and the upper region, have an entirely different feel. Texture is much smoother and softer, lighter tones predominate, and there isn't as strong a directionality of light and shadow. The two regions do not connect visually, either in line, tone, shape or pattern. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted October 16, 2005 I disagree with george's comment. It's the apparent disparity between the two halves that actually make this shot work so dramatically for me; it grabs the eye and makes the viewer take a second, closer look. The colors also work exceptionally well. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 18, 2009 I agree with Mark, I like the soft and then textured contrast Link to comment
