I am not too hung up on the smoking factor because I find it to be accessory to his expression and technique used.

great pose and composition, but the whites of the eyes are so white as to look unnatural to me.

I think the sharpening and blurring went overboard, but it's nice as graphic art.

Great work and composition! What type of film did you use?

Well composed portrait with very good use of photoshop. I see you shot it on an Olympus OM 10, I love those old Olympus cameras I still use an OM 2 sometimes.

thank you guys! morgan i like this camera too, but I think that is not far the time when I'll take a new camera (maybe a canon 20D). But my olymus will be mine forever :P

Beautiful portrait. Agree that I'd like to see the tip of his finger at the bottom(or maybe burned in a bit at the bottom), but it looks gorgeous as is. I'm very anti-smoking but i still like a great photograph and this is one. The expression, the eyes, the fingers, the sweat and the textural detail make it strong and the weary posture and overall composition makes it approachable and not overly intimidating. Very effective and nice.

Too much sharpening for my taste, but a very striking picture none the less. Hard to forget :o)
