The cross' shadow seems to be a little long and for the color: I agree with monochrome to focus on the texture, but what's wrong with black and white? Ultimately the composition fails to satisfy. vele 0 Posted April 3, 2001 I can almost see what you were trying here. I would say that if I saw this I would attempt the same thing. One thing that bothers me is the lack of depth. With closeups like this, you really need to add depth, unless the background is very distracting. In this case, the background -- the shapes on the wall -- is part of the composition and the cross stands out on its own very well, so you didn't need to blur it. Other than this, this is basically a composition in shapes and contrasts. Maybe I'm wrong on your intention, but I'm learning too. Link to comment
