Great shot, it has a "done with charcoals" quality to it. Has any computer manipulation been done to it or is this the original shot? What luck to get a bird (owl?) across the face of the moon in the photo.

First I have to tell you that this is a digitaly alterated picture, I

took the flying bird from another picture of mine and pasted it into

the moon photo "et voilà". (the bird is a swallow)

The exposure of the moon was made as follow: I used a 300mm Tokina

F2.8 + a 2x Extender and used the selective light metering of my

Canon EOS 50E. I shot the picture (1/90 F4 +1/2) without the 2x

Extender.

The picture is 2 photos. The author tells you on his write up. One for the moon and one for the bird.

 

Is it a cheat ? I dont think so. This is one of those pictures that either works or does not. And it does for me, so much so I may even try my own version of it.

 

Great idea and very well done.
