This is the kind of picture I am looking for when I visit thelow end of the rating spectrum. You ought to get "4s" for just getting the horizon straight and the exposure right, but this has a lot more. Well balanced and composed, a nice rhythm with the horizontal elements (jetties(?) and clouds), a lot of different and interesting things going on with the boats and figures, good textures. Fine picture, belongs much higher up the totem pole.

Thanks a lot for your comment, Ellis. I really don't know what to feel about the "rating" on this site, but understand, that some people simply don't take the time to fully SEE what a picture is all about. They seem to judge within a second and maybe do not even try to understand what the photographer wanted to express. Too bad. For my part this forum is about getting input. Thanks for yours.

yes the ratings favour bold picturs that grab you at a glance even in low res.

 

this has a lot of interested when studied longer but wwould not grab me staight away. it lacks imediate pull.....a big sun ect.

 

but what do I know I am only learning.
