pnital 36 Posted September 5, 2005 Jay, it is a very interesting silver streak, gives the landscape some sort of mystery... beautiful composition. can you explain the phenomenon?. Enjoyed exploring it. Pnina Link to comment
vuyisich 0 Posted September 6, 2005 This is very beautiful and "smooth". The colors are subdued and dreamy. I really like it. The only thing that I object to is too much ND use, causing the left part of the sky to be darker than the water. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
jay_patel 0 Posted September 6, 2005 The steam rising of the lake is a pretty common phenomena in cold tempratures, when the water is warmer then the air. To get a silver streak like this, you need a dark background and side lite or back lite to light up the steam. In case of this photograph, the lighting was coming from the right side. Thanks for your comments. Link to comment
jay_patel 0 Posted September 6, 2005 On my monitor, the reflection looks like it is rather well balanced on both sides. Besides, I did not use any ND filters to take this photograph as I did not have the correct ND filter with me. Thanks for your comment...Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Link to comment
labuenaluz 0 Posted September 6, 2005 The rising steam is delicious as so the moment of light, rounded clouds add to composition, I like very much how they are closed by red clouds at different atmosphere height, regards Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted September 6, 2005 Yes, the steam adds the mystery here, creating a very interesting image. Nothing to add or object here... Jiri Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted September 6, 2005 Jay, this is a picture I would love to purchase and hang on my wall. Such a great exposure and place is so magical... Link to comment
cl5 0 Posted September 6, 2005 Jay, this is truly beautiful. It would have been perfect if the trees didn't extend into the left hand side of the photograph - in other words, if , although that is not possible, there had been an island of trees. I do love it though as is. Excellent. Link to comment
vuyisich 0 Posted September 7, 2005 Hi Jay. I checked on my CRT monitor and the exposure looks perfect. It is my laptop LCD monitor that threw me off, because of the different angle of view (top vs. bottom of the picture). Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted September 7, 2005 Jay, this is dreamy. The reflections are almost more real than the reflected parts. That luminous mist that marks the separation looks like a silver ribbon woven by nature. I find this perfect and so inviting!!! Link to comment
ketchemr 0 Posted September 7, 2005 Jay, nice capture. The mist makes the shot. Very peaceful and serene. I also like the way you avoided symmetry by including the foreground grass. Link to comment

jay_patel 0 Posted September 8, 2005 The polarizer help cut down the glare on the water from the light on the right side of the photo. Thanks for your comment. Link to comment
forrest_andrew 0 Posted September 10, 2005 first of all, fantastic shot. as it has been mentioned, that side-lit mist is truly magical and makes this shot have so much atmoshpere. just curious to know how long the sun had been below the horzion when you took this, and approximately how long of an exposure this required?? thanks in advance. again, great shot! jay_patel 0 Posted September 10, 2005 The exposure for this shot was 0.8s @ F9. 15-20 minutes after I took the shots, the first golden rays of sun began to all on the darker low level clouds. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for taking time to comment on this photograph. Link to comment
