post-editing Poster effect in the style of "Sin City"

A photoshop project as per http://www.escrappers.com/sincity.htm. It

is desaturated and contrasty, in the style of the semi-cartoon movie

"Sin City".

First the two things that I would have done differently... 1) I would have prefered to see the subject wearing "darker" style clothing. That's a cool shirt but it creates a clash in between the face and the pistol. 2) I think that it may have been more dramatic if the subject was not making eye contact with the viewer.

Now, the things that I like... 1) Nice touch by having your model keep his wedding band; it adds a touch of "family man" to his "hitman" look. 2) The pistol is (in a very loose way) considered by some as a sign of virility and in your pose it could be seen as a phalic symbol. And 3) The finger is off the trigger. It always makes me happy to see people who practice gun safety (even if it's just a "make believe" photo. Nice job on this image!

Thanks for the comments. I am not sure quite what you mean by the clash of the shirt - do you mean it's too fashionable, rather than 'tough'?
