pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted September 3, 2005 Interesting transitions of color and repetition of shapes. Holds my attention even though i cannot link it with the real world. Link to comment
root 0 Posted September 3, 2005 The area of transition / movement surprised me because it breaks down into discrete lines. In this jpeg, it's most noticable in the lower left corner, but it exists throughout. The subject is a series of straight colored lines on a large wall. The camera motion on this one was a broad arc for a couple seconds. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 4, 2005 Another interesting abstract Carl. The color combination is truly unique. I like the flow of the composition but do wish this was panned just a bit lower. Somehow I feel the bottom is visually cropped too tight. I'm not sure why, since I don't even know what this is. Still, I do like this and I think "Visual Music" is a great theme/title. These certainly have a rythm, melody, and harmony of sorts. Link to comment
root 0 Posted September 4, 2005 If my placement of the elements in the picture frame is influenced in some way by what the elements actually represent in the real world, then I'm not aware of it. My normal approach to composition takes just the opposite tack - reduce the elements in the picture space to simple graphic shapes, lines, textures, etc. Decisions effecting balance - or intentional imbalance - are hard to describe, but are influenced by a few basic principles. Sandeha Lynch 5 Posted September 4, 2005 Really a very nice contrast to the red shot - a technique with scope I think. Link to comment
