alec_kinnear 0 Posted September 2, 2005 This photo is of Canadian dancer Stephanie Cumming in href="http://www.uncoy.com/2005/08/impulstanz_liqu.html">Chris Haring's Liquid Loft at Impulstanz (online review). This photograph attains a sculptural quality. The dancer was moving very fast at all times and here is exactly the moment of stasis. Link to comment
tejedor de luz 0 Posted September 2, 2005 I don't know. Something about a radial arm saw in the background that creates cognitive dissonance. It might work if the model was moved a little the the left. Link to comment
sony 0 Posted September 3, 2005 I think less dof would have helped this image very much. The background doesn't work for me here. If it was me I would work to remove the saw and blur the background some. I don't care much for the box attached to her leg either. Otherwise I think it would be a good shot. Best Link to comment
alec_kinnear 0 Posted September 4, 2005 The box bothers me as well. I don't mind the machine in the background. But it could certainly be just a little bit off to the right. Ah,the joys of live performance photography. Thanks for your comments. Very helpful. Link to comment
sony 0 Posted September 4, 2005 Tell her to stop so you can move the box and the saw. :) I thought this was staged shot. Some people don't like to edit a shot. I'm not one of them. I would take the time to remove the box. I know there are purist out there who are outraged at the thought. Each to their own. Best Link to comment
alec_kinnear 0 Posted September 5, 2005 You're right, it would be worth the time to remove the box. My own photoshop skills would not be up to doing it totally seamlessly. Results would be close but no cigar. But that is a very good suggestion. Link to comment
