Test with shadows and lines in the Quad of UCG

What is the test? I think this photo would be signifigantly stronger minues the view through the pillars, and the step lower left (or more of it). Standing a few inches to the right and a few feet farther forward or backwards, would of made this a success...

The test was mainly for catching the alternating light and dark patches while drawing your eye towards the door.

 

I see where you are coming from with changed angle taking away the distraction of the bright patch to the right.

I had taken 2 (see link) but preferred the lines of the one above.

Good attempt I think.. but I think you should try it again, because unfortunately (and maybe it is just due to my picky eye) my eye goes more towards the break in the pillars on the right, and the stray step on the left, than the door. I have actually taken a similar picture, with a similar goal. Tell me what you think of mine, in contrast

I edited my original comment... i was referring to the step on the LEFT... not the right.
