ned1 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Frankly, I'm a bit of a babe in the woods when it comes to color. Iwas trying to make the colors approximate a Botticelli, but I didn'tquite succeed. Can anyone suggest how I could have pulled it off? Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted August 29, 2005 Hello Edward, I had a look at this. You have the right model, hair and expression and the tones are about right. I think surface texture may be one way of getting that Botticelli look. I'm happy to delete my attempt if you don't like it. Regards. Pete Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Indeed that is the picture I was hoping to emulate. I suspect part of the solution would have been to rely less on photoshop and more on creative use of a fill flash. And please keep your picture here! Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted August 29, 2005 For anyone who wants to try a hand at getting this right, here's the original. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Ned: Here is my cut at it. I'll send you the PS file, if you want it and this is closer to the effect you were looking for. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted August 29, 2005 This version adds a 30% Gaussian Blur set to screen blend mode and restricted to highlights. Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Yes, that's great. How could I also keep the background so I can keep the reference to venus rising from the sea? Patricia is the Queen of Photoshop! Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted August 29, 2005 I emailed you directions to download the PS file. To restore the background, just click off the layers labeled Clone BG, Patch BG and LCE. You have to turn off the LCE (Local Contrast Enhancement) layer only because it is a stamp visible layer and incorporates the BG removal layers. Just creat a new stamp visible layer (for LCE) with the background in versus out. LCE adjustments were Unsharp mask at 11% strength, 19 pixel radius and 0 threshold. Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Patricia, when are you going to write your own book? I'm serious! Link to comment
