kyang 0 Posted August 26, 2005 Like a paiting and the tree and snow in bg is great for B&W. I sense some PS tone manipulation could make it even better. Well I don't know how to do that... Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted August 27, 2005 May I suggest you do a google search on John Paul Caponigro. He advocates a system of copying the individual RGB channels as layers. That affords you a great deal of flexibility in dealing with black and white tonal values. Its very easy to do actually and is the best way to achieve quality color to black and white conversion. pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted August 27, 2005 Thank you for your feedback everybody. Kurt - Please, share even if you are not sure how to achieve. All suggestions welcome. Larry - Yes, everybody should be familiar with the technique you suggested. Other often used moves include Blends, Calculations, Channel Mixer not necessary in that order. It also should be known that setup of one's Grayscale in PS affects conversions when using this command. Regards, Link to comment
darko1 0 Posted August 28, 2005 .You have very nice image here and fantastic composition.. .(on Larry and Kurt....)... you can also enhance BW photos by dealing with selective colors and adding or removing black, neutral and white...this is mostly used technique in my photos when I am not satisfied with tonal range, but the best way is shoting BW on BW films like EFKE or Ilford.Efke ia my choice because of an old Adox formula with lot of silver and fantastic tonal range from black to white, and of course (made in Croatia). And Pawel, Zorki and EFKE, unbeateble comb....:-)) --yours darko Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted August 28, 2005 I hear praise for EFKE from all over the map but have never used it myself. Regards, Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted August 30, 2005 Pawel, I am sorry that I am almost ps-Illiterate. My sense just told me this could have multi-version with all kind of toness, stuff. Well I wish someday some expert can teach me how to do that. :) Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted August 31, 2005 One doesn't have to be an expert in software to have a good suggestion. Most of us if not all are still learning how to use the software best. Regards, Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Excellent capture. I like how the movement with the tree and 2 of the buffalo is to the left but you have one going right to keep it balanced. Lovely winter shot. Link to comment
