spectrum photography 0 Posted November 26, 2001 Hope to get some opinions/ratings on this photo. It is from a series I took that day and I think the firefighter is symbolic of the dedication and sorrow of the moment. Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted November 26, 2001 Can't see his face, but this photo certainly does tell a story. Well executed Link to comment
daniel matuschek 0 Posted November 26, 2001 Even if you don´t see the face, I guess a fill-in-flash would be a good idea Link to comment
spectrum photography 0 Posted December 30, 2001 I think the effect is much stronger with the subjects head dark. Link to comment
airman 0 Posted January 3, 2002 No flash, the picture is the way it should be, the message is there. Link to comment
pabloconrad 0 Posted May 24, 2002 As I look at the photo, one question comes to mind: Where was this shot? With out any caption information, this photo does not say much. There is no contributing information of the photo's where abouts, who the subject is, what he/she is doing, why or how they are doing it. Great news/ journalistic photographs have the five W's: who, what, where, when why and how. The ONLY thing that says he is a firefighter is his hat. I recognize it only because I've shot a lot of fires, and know a lot of fire fighters. This person's jacket needs some identifier as it looks like a simple denim workers jacket. The car at he bottom is bothersome as it actually looks fairly new and undamaged. What would have made this picture so much better is a backgorund which shows were he as at. Not so tight, more loose showing his surroundings. Even a moment between him and another firefighter, or his frustration of the enormity of the event. This photo simply needs more visual info for it to work. Link to comment
spectrum photography 0 Posted August 7, 2002 I thought the title of the photo was adequate in this circumstance. Link to comment
