What a pixie! Amazing smile caught just right, that light splash on eye adds a sort of luminous wink. Excellent portrait, she's going to love this shot in later years.

This is a very cute portrait. I especially like the eyes and the smile. She will be quite a beauty when she grows up!

Need to use a better masking technique . too many artifacts in the hair. Also lighting is a little hot on the left cheek perhaps a soft box or fill light should have been used. crop is a little tight the top of the head is missing. Nice smile cut kid but poor execution in presentation 3/4

It's always hard to achieve ideal lighting situations with candid photos. I decided to leave the splash of natural light in.

 

The artifacts in the hair may be down to the photo.net auto resize... something I've seen in a number of photos... Anyway, I'm pleased to have a half-decent photo of my daughter - she normally runs away when she sees Daddy with the camera! Thanks for all your comments...

The "less than ideal" lighting situation is one of the things that make this image such a grabber! A soft light would have made it less interesting and would have bored her into a say-cheese smile. "Fixing" the bright area around the eye would lose a lot charm. You made superb use of the available light, and captured this exquisite, fleeting millisecond perfectly. We just have to live with the fact that reductions on the downloads here compromise images to a considerable extent.
