Berlin: Flughafen Tempelhof

The Nazis built the airport, Flughafen Tempelhof, and its architecture

is typical of the Nazi era. During the Cold War following World War

II, the Soviets blockaded West Berlin. The Allies supplied West

Berlin by air for about a year using this airport. This action was

called the Luftbr�cke (air bridge) or Berlin airlift.
