ghuczek 0 Posted August 27, 2005 Abandoned railway stations, metal milk jugs on railway baggage carts. Obsolete grain elevators. As we watch more and more things around us slowly becoming obsolete, it is worth noting that other generations have watched as technology changed as well. Change is rapid, relentless, and inevitable. There isn't much point debating whether it's good or bad; it will happen anyway. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted August 27, 2005 Ahhh... the forward march of technology! In 1967 I learned to program computers by plugging and cross-connecting wires into boards that were over one foot square in area. Look where we are today.Thank you for providing some description with your photo. To me that is the meaning of a documentary. Nice photo, nothing modern in it and gray is best for this. Thanks. Mike Marcotte 50,392 Posted September 19, 2005 You're right George, it doesn't matter what our opinions are we'll have change whether we like it or not. This photo is just great in my opinion. I've seen pictures of some of these old elevators in your part of the country &I hope some day to get up that way. Nice job on the toning too. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 15, 2006 Well observed, both the photo and the commentary. Old things hold within themselves a wealth of experiences and when they're gone, they're gone forever - except in your photos. Link to comment
