John Farrell
Sounds like an Adox Golf. There are 4 models - I, with Cassar f4.5/75 in Pronto shutter; II,with Cassar f4.5/75 in Prontor-S shutter; IV, with Cassar f3.5/75 in Prontor-S shutter, and Mess-Golf, with uncoupled rangefinder. McKeown values these at $50 to 75.
winfried_buechsenschuetz1
These cameras were made in the 50s by ADOX which used to be a film manufacturer and in the 1930s acquired the Edixa-Wirgin camera plant (the Wirgin family was jewish and was forced to leave the country). ADOX used to make cameras until somewhere in the 60s but I think they dropped the 6x6 folders earlier. Maybe they are highly rated by McKeowns because it is 'made in Germany', but most of the camera bodies and lenses do not match up with real quality stuff. You can find ADOX cameras quite frequently on german flea markets where they sell for approx. 50 p.c. of the values indicated. The Mess-Golf seems to be pretty rare and should have a higher value.
