corey_ross
Need advice. . I have mentioned snips about canon losing my camera. Well I took my Mark II to canon uk to get the focusing checked and the shutter button adjusted. It was a Monday and I told them I would collect it on the friday. Then came friday, but canon told me they sent it via UPS on there's day. I never got it. I live at flat 2, UPS claim they gave it to flat 3. Flat 3 say they don't have it and UPS not only did they not drop a card from my door saying the left it at flat 3. They also did not get it signed. I am greatful that canon have given me a 1Ds to use, but I have had alot of inconvenience too many to go into. I asked canon what are they prepared to for my inconvenience and there reply was nothing. All they can do is give me a new camera it they can't get this one back. But I been told there is a 3 month wait in the uk for Mark II's and there is also a very big waiting list. Would do you advise and has this happened to any of you guy's. Thank you all in advance. GOD BLESS YOU ALL COREY ROSS

jim_larson1
Wait . . .UPS did not get a signature? Therefore. . . I think legally UPS still has custody. They have no proof of delivery. But what do I know? => I think you need to file a claim.
panos_voudouris
And I thought only Royal Mail could mess it up that bad!
john_gill
So the MkII has focus problems as well. What's really surprising is that Canon had the camera checked within a few days - it usually takes 2/3 weeks.
mike f
Expect a replacement camera and hope to have the 1Ds to use until you get your replacement. There is nothing else you can do. Plus, Canon will work on getting you towards the top of the list since they want their loaner back.
asimh
if i am not mistaken, in the US, it's up to the shipper to file a lost claim. so, wouldn't canon have to file the claim?
yance_marti
Generally UPS won't leave it at another flat unless they get your ok by signature. Check with UPS customer service and have them check their records. They are liable and as long as the correct value was on the shipping receipt, you will get reimbursed eventually... gary_ferguson1
Corey, unless I'm missing something Canon UK seems to be dealing fairly with the matter. UPS screwed up shipping your camera but Canon is taking responsibility, and they've supplied an excellent substitute until they can replace your original camera. Doesn't that qualify as pretty good customer service?
