stephen_f
I have decided to either get a Mamiya 7II, Pentax 67II or Fuji GSW III (6x9). I like them all. My main problem is not having enough money at the time. Is there any payment or student plans these cameras offer. For example, pay $50 a month until your done paying for camera. THANKS BTW< What would you choose for outta my selections for a landscape camera, and maybe a camera to take pictures occasionally of other things. gene crumpler
Robert White has a sale on Fuji Cameras. The GSW III is 672 pounds or about $950 USD. http://www.robertwhite.uk.co
andrew_schank
I have never heard of a camera store or manufacturer offering a payment plan anything like you are asking about. Why not start out with a Rolleicord V or Minolta Autocord which can be had for a little over $100 and are both very cabable cameras that can produce images very close to the expensive cameras you mention above. That way you can be enjoying the benefits of medium format photography while you save up for one of your dream cameras. Who knows, you may find out like many of us have that an old TLR is all you need.
patricia_kingsley
Stephen... Mamiya also offers a leasing program on their cameras...I'm not sure what the restrictions are though. If you are a student you should have better chances, if I'm not mistaken Hasselblad and Mamiya have student financing programs. Call their corporate number. Good luck! art_haykin
Dealers rarely carry paper, but they do often put you in touchwith lenders who usually charge an arm and a leg, like 21%. Ifyou have good credit, go to a bank or use a credit card. Cameras are high risk items to borrow on, and most lenderswould insist on insurance. Can you blame them? lee_turner2
I agree with Andrew. I bought a Yaschica D for about $50 plus a good meter and absolutely loved it (still do). With more money coming in now I'm buying a Linhoff Tech IV with roll film back. For $150 (with meter) I started to REALLY learn metering and exposure after using automated 35mm. Don't get into hock when you can do just as well for the equivalent of 3 of your budgeted monthly payments.
william_baguhn1
Last I checked, Mamiya would allow you to finance a camera purchase through them. 12 month lease plan with $1 buyout in month 13. try <a href="http://www.mamiya.com/purchasinginfo.asp?id=2&id2=90">http://www.mamiya.com/purchasinginfo.asp?id=2&id2=90</a>
woodsman
Stephen,When signed up for College courses in Photography they usually offer substantial discounts on equipment and the last time I took advantage it was a one year payment plan, or the length of the course. Some times the savings pays for the course. <R>
t._j.
Some camera manufacturers offer lease plans in conjunction with participating banks. However, most of these lease plans are aimed towards business rather than consumer individuals. One other option is to get a small personal consumer loan from your local bank. If all else fails, I would get on older camera. You might be able to find Fuji's first generation of the 690 for about $500-$600. That model has interchangealbe lenses! I have shot with that camera and the results, for all practical student purposes, will be on par with the new models that you mention.
