tania_fernandez
Are an Elan 7 and Vivitar 728 AFC - Auto Focus Zoom compatible? The flash was used before with a Rebel body with not so wonderfull results, is there a different flash model more suitable for the Elan 7? Thanks for the advice
suman
Tania Most likely yes. At least the little later later model Vivitar 730AFC is fully compatible.
bill_goldman
A better choice is the Canon 420EX.
jonas_gustavsson
While they in all likelyhood are compatible - 728 is TTL only, I would recommend getting a different flash unit. I had very poor experiences with it - in the year it was covered by warranty, it broke (electronic malfunction) no less than three times and was sent back for replacement. Maybe it did not like NiMH batteries... When it was working, I had more problems with uneven exposure than I think I can blame on my lack of skill. Now I have a Promaster FTD 7000M - a true pleasure to use.
suman
TTL is not bad at all if you know how to use it. Mine was bought in 1992 with an elan and still fires up properly.
