grega
I was thinking that it would be easy to stop in at the local camera store and check out a D70 at the local store. Boy was that a bad assumption. It's about a month since folks started receiving their D70s and they are still hard to get, perhaps more difficult. The largest camera store where I live is taking deposits to get on a waiting list. Their comment was that to see one at their store it would be best to put down a deposit. No deposit from me yet anyways. B&H and Adorama are out of stock, taking orders to get in line for when they arive in stock. Has anyone seen a D70 in stock recently?
klix
check out samys.com. it does NOT say they're out of stock, but you should call them to make absolutely sure.
tholte
Mike Crivellos's in Milwaukee, Wisconsin had ten in stock as of last Friday (5-14). Bodies only, no kits. Their price is the same as any other camera store.
nick_withers
Bel Air camera in Westwood had one last time I was in, they also have a rental one, if I remember rightly. However, my experience, and many of my friends' experinces with them have not been great. Nick
gl5
i got mine by calling around to all the stores in the area and ended up getting one in stock at Best Buy. only negative is i had to pay sales tax but i was totally willing to in order to get the camera. i've already shot a CD album cover with it and it's an amazing camera. jaxphotocat
I think I am about to get a D70 and I have checked 3 places and all are presently without D70s (of course that includes one BestBuy that will order it but does not stock them). They are out there and I think I am going to go to a Ritz Camera, I know it is not the greatest price but I can get either 6 or 12 months interest free if I get a Ritz Camera credit card/line? I am really enjoying this site and getting the great variety of feedback. Mark
BernardMiller
Try Roberts Distributors in Indianapolis. They had some in stock late last week, at least; I got mine from them today--super fast shipping (to Atlanta). Been having big fun trying it out--very impressed so far.
The folks at Roberts are really good to work with. I did it regularly when I lived in Indy. Try the Web site, or give 'em a call at (317) 636-5544.
Best of luck.

edwin_mendoza
I got 2 at Ritz Wolf camera. Call them and ask when the truck gets in. They do not have waiting list but you can reserve it for a couple of hours until you can pick up.
gregg_johnson
Ditto to the 2 previous post. I picked up a second D70 today from Wolf Camera in Nashville. I ordered my first one in January, body only. Since hearing good reviews about the 18-70mm 3.5 - 4.5 lens that comes with the kit, I decided to pick up one today, no problems. Wolf Camera store has plenty of kits in stock (here in Nashville).
