michael s.
Oops. Let's try that again. Link to story
j m shaw
? want's ya to register & no foto
michael s.
Yes, you'll be asked to register. It is free, and it is fast, but it is your call. I registered some years ago, and don't believe my registration has resulted in spam or any other unwanted consequences. Forgetting the paper for a moment and thinking only about photography, I find that the 'slide shows' accompanying the Sunday magazine (online version) are well worth the registration effort. george_conboy1
Agree about the slide shows and many of the other "The Week in Photos" features. Great stuff. And aside from one pop-up ad each time I go to NYTimes.com, I have had no problem with their site, either.
hadji_singh
It is a good story and great photo. I read the article this morning and it was a refreshing contrast to the rest of the paper, which was all doom and gloom (Iraq, terrorism, juror #12). But I like the photo better in color, as it's reproduced online.
hadji_singh
Oh, and by the way, if you're registered, go online to the Sunday Times Magazine and check out the slideshow by Tyler Hicks about choral music around the world. Hicks is usually a war photographer, so this was a nice change of pace from the work you normally see from him. Plus, he does some interesting things by laying two photos side by side. michael s.
Yes, Hadji, the choral slide show includes some gorgeous photos. Thanks for pointing it out.
