hans_s_derstr_m
Hi all,With my latest lens a filter came along. It has the engravings ERNST LEITZ WETZLAR GERMANY, and is marked CR1.5. Dimensions are 39 mm. Colour slightly brownish. Is it a skylight (I don't think so though), or what? How is it best used? Does it require exposure compensation?Glad for any input on this!GreetingsHans
ant_nio_ferreira
B&W uses that code for skylight filters. It must be the case for that filter as well.
working camera
CR1.5 is indeed the B+W designation for a skylight filter. B+W are part of Scheider Kreutznach and have, as I understand made filters for Leica. I cannot find my B+W catalogue so visit their web site for exact technical details. A simple google should find it. Hope this helps, Craig
kaiblanke
Indeed these are the standard skylight filters from B+W. The CR or KR 1.5 is equivalent to a skylight 1A. I have them also, one currently on top of the Rokkor-M 40/2 in my bag.
You might click here to read the schneider explanation of the different filter types. hans_s_derstr_m
Thanks all for your responses. I'm convinced now it's a skylight. It was just that it deviated from another skylight I have that is definitly pink while the CR1.5 is more in the direction of brown. By the way: Hej Patrick! thomas_krantz3
CR 1,5 means "Correction Red" factor 1,5 and is somewhat more coloured than a normal skylight which is factor 1,0.
