tomas_kocanda
I just installed Fuji S2PRO and Hyper Utility software in a studio enviroment. Of coarse, we want to use external flash heads synchronised by PC socket. It works fine, no problems. But, strange is, that the Hyper Utility software is able to control camera via FireWire from a PC or from Mac, all works fine, but it does not work with external flash connected. Or actually it works or seems to be working, but results are horrible. It allows to setup anything (for example M mode, where I setup 1/125s and F22 and other parameters). Then I shoot and result is totally overexposed. So I change to F32 for example and result is the same. It looks like it does not control shutter and aperture at all. But when I shoot using pilot lamps only without pc flash socket synchro, it works. Strange. Do you have any experiences with this software? Can somobody confirm, that it´s know problem or problem of this one body only? I tried the software in PC version on the notebook and it does exactly the same as on the Mac. So, I think, problem is not in the computer.
don_cooper
There's 2 ways to use the software. Do you mean that you're using the computer to control the shooting or are you using the camera to control the shooting. I use the camera to control the shooting in manual mode with shutter speed and aperture set, look through the viewfinder and fire the shutter with the shutter release, and results are perfect. Not to suggest that you're doing anything wrong but I assume you're taking a flash reading to get your exposure info. I haven't tried firing the shutter through the computer so can't comment on that. wayne_seanard
I have shot using both the camera to control the shot and using the computer to control the shot and have no problems either way. If your using the computer to control the camera mak sure you click on the apply button each time you change the exposure settings or the old settings are used evan though it looks like you changed them. wayne_seanard
Oh I forgot also when your shooting hooked to the computer use the 110 power converter and take all batteries out of the camera. If you don't have the power pack Radio Shack sells one for $22 that works great.
