todd frederick
I could not find this issue in the search listings. I have an F90 (European version of N90) and just received an MB-10 grip for it from auction. The grip works fine to power the camera but the vertical shutter doesn't work. I looked inside the F90 battery compartment and there are no terminals for the MB-10 vertical shutter release prongs. I am guessing that the F90 will not allow that function with the MB-10. Correct? If so, I've got a fine MB-10 for sale. :>( Any info on this?
eric_.
Todd, The N90/F90 needs a modification to make it work, and I was told that Nikon Corporations will do the service. I have no information as to the cost or what is modified. In my opinion it is well worth to give this a try as the camera handles so much better with the grip attached to it, especially with the heavier lens types. rjclarke
Hi- see this site. It mentions that the MB-10 remote shutter release only works on the N90 if the camera is modified. Godd luck http://home1.gte.net/tpeach/Photography/N90vsN90s.htm
todd frederick
Thanks for the info. I thought that might be the problem. I usually have good luck with purchases, but recently, I have had numerous costly problems. I need to do more homework before buying.
mark_cooke
This also applies to the Nikon F801s (which most people don;t know, but the Mb-10 can be used to enhance camera handling). regards Mark
