peter_lamotte
Has anyone seen any sign, or posting, or even a hint as to the suggested price for the upcoming Fuji S3? What about a date of release? The Fuji site states that it has yet to announce the date, but Cnet.com listed it as Summer 2004. Can anyone else confirm this? eigtball
At PMA the model at the booth said it was a pre-production model. I also didn't see any press release from Fuji about it, so its anyones guess. If I had to make one it would be mid-summer to early fall, maybe at CES? Who knows really. Cheers,
ivan_verschoote1
I've been thinking that even Fuji marketing really hasn't a clue at what price they have to throw the S3 on the market, given the strong specs of a good value body like the D70. If Fuji puts a steep entry ticket on the S3, they will have a hard time to sell it. But thats only my opinion.
robert_ades1
I spoke to a Fuji rep at the pre-PMA press briefing, and she said that the camera was definitely moving up-market pricewise. Although, by the time it hits the stores, the competition will have come down in price a bit, so who knows?
peter_lamotte
They are going to have a tough time selling a 6MP camera for over $2000. I know they call it 12MP but lets call a spade a spade. The software makes is what makes it 12MP, not the sensor. Correct me if I am wrong in this assumption. ShunCheung
Canon's EOS 10D is at $1500 going down and Nikon's D70 will be below $1000. What does the Fuji S3 have to offer to be more expensive than $1500? I'd say they'll have a tough time selling it at $2000, let alone higher.
